“Psychological safety is not about being nice or lowering performance standards, it’s about giving candid feedback, openly admitting mistakes, and learning from them.”
– Amy C. Edmondson

In-company training by certified Nonviolent Communication trainers
Nonviolent communication in your work
Why are more and more companies and organizations offering their management and employees a training course in ‘Nonviolent Communication in your work’?
Much time, energy, and motivation are lost in the workplace due to inefficient communication and misunderstandings. Under high pressure, or when things do not go as we would like, we can become negative and often blame one another. We feel frustration or anger and say things that do not improve mutual relationships. Sometimes we even stop communicating altogether. It is clear that this is the death knell for effective collaboration.
In the ‘Nonviolent Communication in your work’ training, you will learn how to stay connected with colleagues and customers and how to communicate effectively in challenging situations.
What are the benefits of the training?
The goal is connection with yourself and your colleagues. The training fosters connection because of the subject matter and because participants get to see different sides of each other during the sessions. It contributes to a common language in the workplace focused on mutual understanding.
This creates a psychologically safe work environment with:
- Room for honest feedback
- Greater clarity regarding each other’s needs
- Less fear of uncomfortable conversations
- Creative solutions to problems
- More relaxation in interactions
- Less hassle, and therefore more time and energy for other things
- Reduced turnover and absenteeism
What do you learn in the training?
During the training, we discuss the various components of the Nonviolent Communication model (Observations, Feelings, Needs, and Requests) and the three basic processes (Empathic listening, Inner clarity, and Honest expression).
A training course consists of one or more sessions with short blocks. Each block explains a topic using a practical exercise. We therefore immediately get to work actively with concrete cases from the work situation.
Examples of topics that may be covered include:
- Giving and receiving feedback
- Making effective requests
- Setting boundaries
- Diversity & inclusion
- Inner development goals & personal leadership
- Collaborative decision-making
- Empathy in practice
- Different ways of listening
- Nonviolent communication
