Online training Nonviolent Communication (English)
Introduction and deepening training Nonviolent Communication online
Equanimity offers an online introductory Nonviolent Communication training in English. Join us for six virtual sessions where we will dive into theory and practise of Nonviolent Communication. No experience is required, and you will receive digital reading & studying material after each session.
NOTE: at this moment we have not planned any online trainings yet for this year. Please fill in the form below if you would like to be kept up-to-date on new dates.
What will you learn in our online Introduction NVC course?
In this introduction online course you will learn about and explore the following topics:
Theory: What is Nonviolent Communication? We will cover the origins, the underlying worldview, the communication and awareness model, introducing you to the basic four elements and three processes of Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication.
Practise: From session one onwards, you will get to work on practical exercises using everyday examples, and you will gradually become more confident and capable in the practise of honest dialogue and empathic listening.
Awareness: You will gain insight into the key drivers behind your behaviour and communication, and the pitfalls that cause conversations to take an unpleasant turn and lead to disconnection from yourself and others. This clarity supports you to act from choice rather than trigger. You will discover what drives you as a human being and makes life more wonderful.
Connection: Gaining clarity in yourself, you will be able to connect more authentically with others; your own family, your team, your community. Connection will become honest, joyful and thriving: giving feedback, compliments, setting boundaries and general conversations will become an energising playing ground where you can communicate and come as you are.
The online introduction Nonviolent communication course has a maximum of 20 participants. Your trainers are Maren Hermans and Boris Nauta.

Continued learning in our online Deepening NVC course
For those who have taken an introduction course at Equanimity or elsewhere, there is an online Deepening NVC course. We will delve deeper into self-compassion and different ways of listening, and we will practice dialogues in role-playing exercises. We will focus on how to deal with feelings of anger, frustration, shame, and guilt- both your own and those of others.
This module deepens your skills in connecting communication: gaining inner clarity, honest sharing, and empathic listening. You explore obstacles and pitfalls in empathic listening, gain insight into how both parties involved might experience a situation, and practice dialogue. You recognize the space that you and the other person have for connection at that moment. Again, we practice with situations brought in by the participants themselves.
The Deepening course Nonviolent communication has a maximum of 20 participants. Your trainers are Maren Hermans and Boris Nauta.
